Update on the New Assemblage 23 Album
Sorry for the lack of updates lately. The holidays always seem to be a busy time of year, and this year is no exception. First, the "bad" news. After much thought and discussion, I have decided to cancel the maxi-single for "The Noise Inside My Head". This was not a decision I made lightly, but the writing has been on the wall for some time now and the single is just a dead format. As much as I am still a fan of the format and would love to continue putting out singles, there comes a point of diminishing returns where you are just throwing money away. The good news, however, is that work on the next A23 album, "Bruise" is coming along very nicely and I'm really happy with how it's coming out. I think the songs are some of the catchiest ones I've done with a lot of emphasis on melody. Stylewise, it is sort of an interesting combination of retro and futuristic influences. As with "Compass", there will be a limited version with bonus tracks. Still shooting for an April release on this one.

Assemblage 23 Keyboardist in Minor Accident
Paul Seegers, Assemblage 23's live keyboard player, was in a minor traffic accident last week resulting in a broken arm. This will not effect any of our upcoming shows, however, as Paul is not a pussy and can literally rock your asses off with one hand behind his back. But, you know, some well wishes wouldn't go unappreciated either...

Assemblage 23 Announces New Drummer
I am happy to announce the addition of Mike Jenney from Alter Der Ruine as Assemblage 23's new live drummer. Mike will make his premier with us at our upcoming show in Los Angeles at the end of September. He won't be along for the Australian dates, but will join us full time after that. If you've never seen Mike drum before, you're in for a treat!

Assemblage 23 Added to Blackfield Festival Line-up
I'm happy to announce that Assemblage 23 will be playing a last-minute gig at the Blackfield Festival this Sunday, filling the spot for Rotersand, who had to cancel due to illness. Hope to see lots of you there! |
